Requirements

  • A degree in Physics, Chemistry, Ecology, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Management, Geology or Natural Sciences
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Strong collaborative values and flexibility to work across a range of projects.
  • Good computer literacy

Responsibilities

  • The Environmental Services team is active in a variety of new low carbon energy projects as well as supporting existing operations across our sites. You will work closely alongside scientists and engineers on a range of activities which may include:
  • Supporting the implementation of innovative solutions and new technologies to help deliver Uniper’s decarbonisation goals
  • Running dispersion models to assess impacts of power station emissions on air quality and analysing the results
  • Developing ecological management plans and strategies to support the development of new sites
  • Monitoring of air quality, noise and bore-hole water in the vicinity of power stations.
  • Providing planning and permitting support for the development of new sites
  • Assessing costs and benefits of new and emerging generation and decarbonisation technologies
  • Reviewing new environmental legislation to determine the implications for the energy sector
  • Our Science and Engineering Excellence scheme is specially designed to develop our technical specialists of the future. You’ll gain experience within the Environmental Services team but also get the chance to undertake placements elsewhere in the business helping you master a wider understanding of what we do. We’re committed to developing our graduates, and you will receive both on the job and formal training, while working towards your Chartership.
