Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise when required including operating and maintaining safe and efficient systems of work for all engineering and building related issues. Ensure compliance of service within agreed statutory, mandatory, safety, environmental, quality standards, policies and procedures and providing a safe working environment for patients, staff and visitors.
  • Implement Estates Maintenance, work to NHS GG&C Health and Safety and SHTM Policies and Procedures.
  • Assist the supervisors to organise and manage on a day-to-day basis the work load and priorities of the staff.
  • Hours of work are Monday to Friday 08:30-16:30 hrs and applicants will participate with on-call duties as part of the on-call team to ensure that emergency repairs occurring out of normal hours are attended to as per the current local agreement.
  • This job role includes site responsibility for estates management issues in and out with normal working hours of operation as part of a 24/7 maintenance team providing operational maintenance & emergency response for all building services (e.g. electrical, mechanical & building fabric) within the Hospital Campus. This includes working on HV/LV, MGPS, Ventilation and Water Systems all managed and controlled under formal safe systems of work as per operational policy & procedure.
  • The successful candidate will manage a team of Coordinating Supervisors, Multi Skilled Technicians, Maintenance Assistants and a variety of specialised contractors on a day to day basis.
