Responsibilities

  • - Provide leadership and manage all aspects of research farm and cross portfolio / cross crop research program (Herbicide, Fungicide, Insecticide, FCC) including people management, annual budgeting, 3-year capital planning, 3-year crop rotation planning, farm cooperator relationships, management of temporary staffing needs on the farm and quality of all data collection.
  • - Provide management of external research cooperators and support regulatory submissions by project. Interact with technical and regulatory teams (country) and external interactions may include both public and private research scientists and influencers.
  • - Manage a research farm executing project planning including protocol planning, data summaries, presentations for multiple audiences. Participate in Molecule and Product Launch Excellence (PLE) teams.
  • - Support trial protocol development, collect high-quality data, interact with Regulatory for technical regulatory strategy, build effective research partnerships, support product launches, hire, train, and develop Research Associates, Technicians, and seasonal staff for successful execution of Biology trial research program.
  • - Mentor and develop Biologists, enable high-quality field research results, model safety culture with people, farms, and field trialing operations, provide coaching, mentoring, and training opportunities for people growth and development, build and manage local research farm capabilities.
  • - Manage research farm targets, budgets, equipment, fleet, and inventory, utilize methodologies and technologies for evaluating new solutions, be a member of APN Biology-Canada Field Trial Management Team, understand customer/market needs, provide vision and leadership for designing internal and external Biology research programs.
