Responsibilities

  • Install fibre optic cables underground by pulling or blowing cables through subduct or existing ducted sections.
  • Drill and screw fix underground fibre equipment to chamber walls.
  • Complete internal cabling and cable clipping as required.
  • Installation of trunking/conduit as required to provide containment for cables.
  • Installation of steel trunking as required externally to protect cables.
  • Working at height on ladders as required to complete cabling duties.
  • Install customer communications racks and associated telecommunications equipment.
  • Install and setup customer modem and contact the network operations centre to ensure connectivity is online.
  • Complete safe internal to external drilling to allow cable entry to buildings.
  • Work alongside splicing teams daily to connect customers to the fibre network.
  • Liaise with manager’s daily to notify progress of works.
  • Ability to maintain records of daily work logs, data recordings, and network design maps.
  • Assure all works are performed within customer quality requirements.
  • Ability to follow design drawings and schematics.
