Responsibilities

  • Monitor product field performance, identify trending issues.
  • Prioritize based on severity, occurrence and/or cost of each failure mode for all platforms and factories but specifically for Berlin products.
  • Engage and connect with service centers and regional support structures in order to identify failures based on geographical region, climate, customer population, etc. to evaluate customer impact regionally.
  • Apply technical engineering knowledge to drive containment and corrective action implementation into NPI/ production / design / supplier / firmware.
  • Communicate field performance of the engineering system, gather buy-in from engineering peers and leadership on improvement priorities and urgency.
  • Share Lessons Learned from previous field issues; Provide upfront feedback by participating in design reviews to ensure product performance, reliability, and manufacturability issues are identified and risks mitigated. (DFMEAs)
  • Take part in ongoing optimization and regionalization of new and improved products and processes (performance, cost, technology).
