Responsibilities

  • The Finance Lead for the Barcelona Global Hub will report into the EuCan Regional Financial Controller and will be responsible for all financial activities related to the Barcelona Global Hub including controllership, compliance, planning and forecasting.
  • The role will business partner key senior collaborators within the organization in addition to further handling a complex range of partners with diverse requirements based in multiple offices.
  • Running month-end close processes and reporting for the hub, working with outsource partners as appropriate to meet group requirements.
  • Develop and prepare accurate and timely mthly reporting including analytics and insights related to capex, headcount and SG&A costs.
  • Accountable for the quality of the Balance Sheet for the hub ensuring compliance with group Balance Sheet policies and that all financial transactions are posted in accordance with the Group Accounting Manual.
  • Providing support to Spain MC CFO/FC to ensure local statutory and tax requirements are met; providing data and business insights as appropriate in relation to the hub.
  • Accountable for handling the E2E Financial Controls Framework for the hub, incl. design: control assignment: review: mitigation of control fails etc.
  • Ensuring that hub costs are charged back through timely intercompany billing, to the appropriate legal entities (as required) and ensuring appropriate intercompany agreements are in place with other AstraZeneca affiliates.
  • Ad-hoc projects within the controlling area and Support financial controller.
  • Preparing and submitting agreed RBU, MTP and Phased Budget forecasts.
  • Work with all levels of the AstraZeneca organization to identify potential opportunities and/or risks to forecasts/plans in relation to hub costs.
  • Monthly monitoring and tracking of global hub headcount growth to latest plan at a functional/team level. Engaging with all relevant partners to ensure all costs are allocated appropriately with no surprises.
  • Maintain list of all multifunctional hub cost centres including which business group/legal entity they belong to along with associated partner contact information.
  • Work closely with hub partners (global & local) provide recommendations to optimize processes.
  • Calculate and communicate the appropriate and accurate chargebacks to the appropriate finance partners globally in a timely manner enabling accurate planning and forecasting to take place.
  • Responsible for preparing finance elements of cases for the hub and creating, agreeing and submitting capex budgets and forecasts.
  • Other ad-hoc projects or initiatives as required.
