Requirements

  • Must have:
  • A Qualified Accountant or equivalent experience.
  • Complex model building skills - from design through to development, testing and deployment.
  • Ability to create and execute plans using virtual teams.
  • Excellent organisational abilities.
  • Superb stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • A curious mindset
  • Would be good to have:
  • Experience of Anaplan platform and Anaplan model building.
  • A basic understanding of IFRS 15 and IFRS 16 Accounting policy.
  • Experience with Consumer revenue system

Responsibilities

  • You’ll aid the Consumer Finance team with its plan to update and re-platform a number of complex accounting models. The existing models are currently platformed in Excel and the working assumption is that they will be transitioned to the Anaplan platform.
  • You’ll ensure the new models:
  • Are designed and built in a consistent manner where applicable.
  • Comply with our pre-defined Accounting Policies.
  • Contribute to a robust Financial Control environment and provide meaningful insight into the accounting.
  • You’ll perform actual model build work and support the model build work performed by other members of the wider Consumer Finance team, including GFSS.
  • You’ll deal with various stakeholders within Consumer Finance.
  • You’ll work with wider business stakeholders, including Digital, Consumer transformation and proposition to investigate issues and ensure that the right data sources are in place to enable our accounting models to work.
  • You’ll undertake regular model and assumption reviews and respond to ongoing business changes, such as new regulatory requirements and changes in pricing.
  • Leadership responsibilities:
  • You’ll ensure the model build project deliveries are met by aiding with the project management of the available resources.
  • As new models are built, you’ll train and coach accounting colleagues in handover to BAU
