Requirements

  • A university degree, preferably computer science, natural sciences, or engineering, paired with a passion for data engineering and digital products
  • Multiple years of experience building production-grade software
  • Proven experience with Python and related frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask) or a comparable coding stack
  • Strong experience with React or comparable JavaScript-based front-end libraries
  • Solid understanding of front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
  • Proficiency working with Docker or other containerization technologies
  • Familiarity with Azure cloud services is a plus (e.g., Azure App Service, Azure Storage)
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines
  • Passion in exploring new digital technologies as well as advancing GenAI platforms and products
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Open-minded, flexible and proven ability to interact with interdisciplinary and international teams
  • Fluent English skills; advanced German language skills would be a plus

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain scalable web applications using mainly Python and React (e.g., building the back-end infrastructure, implementing server-side logic, integrating databases, developing APIs, creating intuitive and responsive user interfaces)
  • Collaborate with data scientists and AI researchers to integrate GenAI models and algorithms into web-based products
  • Design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
  • Optimize and refactor existing code to improve performance and reliability
  • Ensure the stability, scalability, and security through comprehensive testing, addressing any issues or bugs, and implementing security measures to protect user data and product integrity
  • Utilize Azure cloud services to deploy, manage, and scale applications
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality code
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to incorporate best practices into development processes
