Responsibilities

  • - Responsible for the nursing care of well women at risk, women with benign and malignant disease, their families and the community.
  • - Assesses patients and families physical, psychosocial, and spiritual responses to the disease process and/or treatment and provides nursing interventions that include physical care to manage disease and treatment related symptoms.
  • - Assists with diagnostic procedures.
  • - Provides education and psychosocial support to encourage active participation in decision making and self-care.
  • - Works in a team environment to foster an atmosphere of respect and caring.
  • - Practices within a primary nursing model, providing patient-centered care for patients and their families through direct comprehensive care, supportive care, collaborative practice and evidenced-based practice.
