Description
- We are constructing the next generation of particle detectors for colliders, neutrino experiments and dark matter searches. Parts of several new detectors are under construction at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, including the ATLAS Integrated Tracker and LUX-ZEPLIN.
- We're looking forward to giving a graduate the chance to work in several of our labs on a variety of hands-on areas for detector construction and testing, gaining broad experience at the groundbreaking of technology.
- You will also work closely with our dedicated physicists and engineers to help you gain experience as an Applied Physicist!
Requirements
- Essential:
- Achieved, or be on course to achieve, a minimum 2:1 degree in a relevant field of study
- Have the right to live and work in the UK at the time of starting employment
- Interest in particle physics
- Experience of lab work
- Experience with electronics
- Willingness to travel, both in the UK and internationally
- Programming experience
- Desirable:
- Experience with computer-aided design
- Additive manufacturing
- Experience with Linux
