Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, etc.).
  • Experience in traction power or railroad design.
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally to all AECOM, partner, and client office locations, including project offices, if applicable.
  • Ability to perform site investigations and walk-downs in high-voltage substations and along electrified railroads.
  • Interest/experience with Power System Design.
  • Fundamentals of Engineering certification (FE) preferred or willingness to obtain the certification within 1 years of hiring date.
  • Possess the ability or have the willingness to learn how to utilize CAD/BIM software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare design drawings and documents, technical specifications, cost estimates, calculations, and studies associated with power system.
  • Prepare one-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, selection of substation equipment, and writing of substation equipment specifications.
  • Learn to exercise of judgment on details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
  • Learn to communicate well with others and support business development opportunities.
