This is a rotational Graduate Engineering Programme, where you will be offered the unique opportunity to spend time in each of our Engineering departments which include: Operations, NPD Devices & NPD Metals.

Our structured graduate programme provides personal, professional and technical development opportunities within a diverse environment. You will be an integral part of the TE team and play key role from day one in helping ensure we achieve our business objectives.
In addition to practical on-the-job training across our engineering departments, there will be a training development roadmap which will allow you to develop your technical and professional ability to help grow your career. You will work on a number of projects with each department, gaining key skills in: teamwork, project management, continuous improvement.



On completion of this 2 year rotational programme you will have gained invaluable experience and knowledge of each engineering department. You will acquire a comprehensive perspective of the medical device industry that will benefit you and enhance your career.

What your background should look like:

Operations
The Operations Engineering team consists of 110 + technical staff ranging from Apprentices, to Engineering Managers. We support over 50+ technologies on Campus, that are used in the manufacture of our Medical devices. The Engineering department is the driving force for improvement through Automation, improving process capability, introducing the latest technologies and use of Lean tools. We have a dedicated Automation team that is pushing the boundaries in automated material handling and Automated Inspection for the Medical Industry.

Advanced technology & Prototyping
As part of the CTO organisation, the advanced technology and prototype team is responsible for developing next generation technology and product demonstrators. Our prototype team works closely with customers during their early ideation phases of their next generation product development programs. The team is approximately 10 engineers and technicians based in Galway and working in close collaboration with our Global NPD and Advanced technology engineering teams.

NPD Devices
The NPD team has staff of 65+ who work on developing catheter delivery systems for a number of major Medical OEMs. The Devices Engineering team is the largest development team in TE Medical and manages 15-20 projects at any given time. We help develop some of the most critical catheter delivery systems in the world used in Structural Heart, Neurovascular, Electro-Physiology, Cardiac and more. The work we do help provide life changing operations increasing positive clinical outcomes. In this rotation, you will gain experience in the following within 3 streams – Product Development, Process Development, Equipment & Line set-up.

NPD Metals
The NPD metals team works across a number of therapies and sells both internally to other elements of the business and directly to end customers. The team support mainly needles and hypotubes but are bringing the most advanced manufacturing technologies to play on the components. The use of new technologies, innovative thinking and skilled engineers are creating solution that support the customers product vision. You’ll spend time with some incredible subject matter experts and witness the next generation of medical solutions manufacture at a component level.

What we are looking for
  • You are a recent or prospective graduate in a relevant Engineering or Science discipline. (minimum Level 8 required)
  • It is essential that the successful candidate will be highly innovative, motivated and have the ability to work on own initiative
  • You will naturally demonstrate problem-solving skills and have strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Broad experience in working with the MS Office packages Word, Excel, PowerPoint
