Requirements

  • Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
  • Degree emphasis or interest in Transportation
  • Upcoming graduate or experienced professional with up to four years of progressive experience developing construction documentation for various transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to apply effective verbal and written communication skills when writing specifications and reports, participating in project team discussions, and interacting with clients and contractors.
  • Ability to travel as needed for construction administration, team meetings, client consultations, site inspections/visits, etc.; Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Advantageous Qualifications:
  • FE / EIT Certification
  • Thorough understanding of drafting techniques, plan development, and related engineering practices.
  • Previous coursework or project assignments related to airport planning and design.
  • Previous experience conducting topographic surveys, on-site inspections, and construction observations.
  • Previous training or experience with ArcGIS.

Responsibilities

  • As a member of our employee-owned and integrated team of multi-discipline professionals, you will work alongside Civil Engineers, Designers, Technicians, and Planners to provide engineering expertise at airports across the country including small general aviation airports, large international hub airports, and military bases. You will be responsible for preparing detailed drawings using AutoCAD, frequently performing calculations for project dimensions and elevations, computing and tabulating quantities, and performing preliminary surveys and construction administration duties as needed.
