Requirements

  • Holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
  • Previous experience and/or interest in transportation projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Advantageous Qualifications:
  • EIT certification
  • Previous coursework or project assignments related to transportation or highway design.
  • Previous experience or formal training with Microstation, OpenRoads Designer
  • Thorough understanding of drafting techniques, plan development, and related engineering practices.
  • Previous experience developing construction plans and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • As a member of our Surface Transportation team in downtown Saint Paul, you will apply your academic and professional knowledge while working alongside Professional Engineers and Technicians who have established a reputation for generating safe and efficient designs for complex transportation infrastructure systems for the Department of Transportation, local agencies, and design-build contractors. While working on these projects, you will assist with highway design, geometric layouts, alignments, profiles, cross sections, and production of final plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
