Requirements

  • University degree (minimum an equivalent to a Bachelor) preferably in Business Administration, Finance or Economics, and ideally a post-graduate level
  • A maximum 2 years of work experience (excluding internships of less than 9 months) since your most recent graduation
  • Experience of financial analysis and/or credit analysis would be preferred
  • Interest and/or experience in public sector analysis would be an advantage
  • Proficiency in MS Office Tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Any knowledge of computer programming will be an advantage
  • Excellent knowledge of English and/or French (*), with a good command of the other. Knowledge of other European languages, especially Polish and/or Dutch and/or Romanian, would constitute a strong advantage).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare counterparty spread sheets based on an existing template. This encompasses a breakdown of the financial statements of the counterpart concerned and allows the calculation of financial ratios
  • Carry out, according to an agreed program, financial reviews of assigned counterparties, assess their credit standing and propose internal ratings and climate scores
  • Review the contractual clauses of the lending contracts active with these counterparties, in order to monitor their compliance on an ongoing basis, and support colleagues in the follow-up of the related contractual events
  • Promptly flag any non-compliance contractual event as well as any sign of credit deterioration of selected counterparties, and provide timely comments/updates
  • Propose solutions/remedies or respond to other requests from EIB counterparties and participate in their implementation, working with colleagues in other EIB Directorates and with external co-financiers as appropriate
  • Monitor and follow-up the repayment of the loans as they fall due
  • Perform ad hoc reviews, if necessary, in response to external events to ensure that the Bank’s response is timely and appropriate
  • Perform regular or ad hoc KYC due diligences, tax integrity checks and compliance-related tasks
  • Understand and follow on-going developments in the sectors and countries of assigned counterparties
  • Participate in the disbursement process of the lending contracts, under supervision and in coordination with the Joint Middle Office, and promote utilisation of the signed loans
  • Perform regular checks on Early Warning Signals, in line with the applicable policy, providing update of comments, outlook and any additional information possibly required to perform impairment testing
  • Contribute to the Division's regular reports and presentations
  • Participate in horizontal tasks in topics of common interest across PMM or with other Directorates, in function of needs and opportunities
  • Contribute to a sustained flow of information internally in the team and offer support/back-up to other colleagues
