Requirements

  • You will demonstrate understanding of the fundamentals of energy system operation and have skills and experience in using programming languages and operational research techniques that will allow a step change in the type and level of analysis we complete.  A good level of ability in producing written reports and presentations as well as analysis and design would be beneficial. 
  • You will  have a minimum 2.2 degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering, or Physics, or Maths, or Data Science. 
  • Ideally, you will also have a valid full UK Driving Licence. 

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and undertaking power system analysis to identify network issues and solutions for the development of the network
  • Developing system operability strategies and new ancillary products, based on system analysis and on plant specific information, whilst taking into account the operation of the system, generation and demand)
  • Working with GB transmission owners to ensure our network simulation models are maintained to provide accurate and technical analysis necessary to electricity network design 
  • Manage the technical aspects of electricity frameworks (both GB and Europe) 
  • Contributing to the development of analysis and content for NESO publications
  • Facilitating new generation and demand connections to the GB network
  • Assessing Grid Code compliance of GB network users and identifying remedial actions
  • Undertaking strategic energy planning analysis to support strategic network development
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders and building trusting relationships
  • This role is based at Warwick hybrid working options available and dependent upon business requirement.
