  • CREATIVITY – To have proven credentials in creating bold and original campaigns across different platforms.
  • LEADERSHIP – To have experience of managing / mentoring Creatives, and the potential to be an outstanding leader.
  • PRODUCTION – To have a fundamental understanding of video, audio and digital/broadcast, content creation, and out of home design, with a good knowledge of key software (such as Adobe Creative Suite).
  • COMMUNICATION – To have good influencing/persuading skills and be confident working with senior stakeholders. To be able to communicate effectively with a range of creative and production colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a creative team of different specialisms.
  • Drive forward and manage work within a specialist craft or portfolio of crafts.
  • Manage stakeholders across the department and the wider BBC in order to deliver excellent creative solutions.
  • Line manage a number of Creatives and lead, enthuse and encourage a working atmosphere of risk taking and innovation, embracing new ways of working.
  • Create and oversee innovative and effective content.
  • Work to formal/informal creative briefs, and ensure material from the team is highly targeted and meets agreed objectives.
  • Inspire the team to generate outstanding creative work, coaching and mentoring as well as leading by example.
  • Set high standard for production values.
  • Coach and mentor team members to ensure that all output is of high quality.
  • Manage a wide variety of projects - commissioning and briefing staff/contributors as appropriate.
  • Ensure your team have the relevant skills and can deploy them as needed to create work of a high standard.
  • Responsible for communication within the team, ensuring that key messages are communicated out in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Liaise with marketers and programme producers, and develop strong working relationships with stakeholders and partners.
  • Work closely with craft personnel within your team and across BBC Creative, briefing them effectively to produce the required material.
  • Contribute to the development, realisation and evaluation of broader company and department initiatives.
  • Be a role model within the business, ensuring effective recruitment, appraisal, training, development, and communication processes are in place which meets or exceeds BBC standards.
