Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Manager, the Health Record Technician is responsible for coding and abstracting personal health information records in accordance with CIHI guidelines. The Health Record Technician inputs data into the 3M-HDM system, a computerized abstracting system and codes the diagnosis and procedures according to ICD 10-CA/CCI using 3M Codefinder. All coding and abstracting will comply with established CIHI, DHW, RCP and Health Centre guidelines. The Health Record Technician maintains and uses a variety of health record storage and retrieval systems; and analyzes patient records to ensure they meet Health Centre Standards.
