Responsibilities

  • Working as part of the Primary Care Nursing Team under the direction of the Nurse in Charge the Healthcare Support Worker will have a significant role in delivering care to patients.
  • The role will entail supporting clinical staff to deliver, routine clinics/care within the Health Centre and at times in the Residential Prison Halls, including Medication Administration, Health Screening, Clinical Treatments, Long Term Conditions Reviews, Medical Emergencies, while working in collaboration with the wider multidisciplinary health team and the Scottish Prison Service.
  • The post will cover both sites; working traditional nursing shifts over a 7 day period however may be subject to change to meet the needs of the service as it evolves.
