What is the pay rate for this position?
The pay rate is £49.75 per direct teaching hour, with a flat rate of £19.90 per hour for completing other elements of the schedule such as teaching, preparation, and marking.
When does the role start?
The role will commence in October/November 2024.
Are there specific software skills required for this position?
Yes, candidates should have expertise in creative pattern cutting and digital software related to fashion design/product development, specifically CLO-3D and Lectra.
What qualifications or experience are required for applicants?
Candidates should have detailed knowledge of techniques and equipment through industry, professional, and/or higher education experience in Fashion, along with excellent interpersonal skills.
Is this role suitable for international applicants?
Yes, applications are welcomed from candidates who do not currently have the right to work in the UK, but who would be eligible to obtain a valid visa via another route. However, the role has been assessed as ineligible for sponsorship under the UK Visas & Immigration points-based immigration system.
What type of teaching methods should the lecturer be familiar with?
The lecturer should be able to communicate complex design or technical ideas effectively using a variety of teaching methods.
Is prior teaching experience necessary for this role?
While teaching experience is beneficial, the school encourages applications even if candidates do not meet every single requirement.
Who will the lecturer work under?
The lecturer will work under the direction of the Principal Lecturers who manage the Fashion Design courses.
