What are the primary responsibilities of a Housekeeping Aide?
The primary responsibilities include ensuring the cleanliness and neatness of residents’ rooms, offices, and common areas; performing routine, deep, terminal, and discharge cleaning; maintaining a safe environment by utilizing infection control principles; checking supplies and equipment; and carrying out duties within a multidisciplinary team.
Is experience in institutional cleaning necessary for this position?
While previous experience in Institutional Cleaning or Laundry in Long Term Care is desirable, it is not a strict requirement for the role.
What are the qualifications required for applying to this position?
Applicants must be a secondary school graduate or have an approved equivalent, possess knowledge related to infection control and cleaning practices, have good interpersonal skills, and effective verbal and written English communication skills.
Are background checks required for applicants?
Yes, all applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check for Ontario applicants and the Criminal Records Check for British Columbia applicants.
