Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative oversight for hiring of temporary employees within the department, including: preparing job descriptions, posting positions, onboarding/offboarding employees, and appointment/salary changes. Process volunteer appointments within the department.
  • Coordinate the time reporting processes for both temporary and regular employees. Follow up for time approvals, answer payroll questions, and run payroll queries.
  • Work with student services, financial staff, and HR Generalist to process appointment and funding information for graduate students.
  • Assist in monitoring compliance with I-9 guidance, mandatory sexual harassment training, Children on Campus procedures, and the effort certification process. Escalating issues to HR Generalist and/or Department Administrator as appropriate.
  • Collaborate in maintaining department HR files, records, listservs, account sponsorship, and relevant tracking systems. Collaborate in documenting HR policies and procedures to disseminate to Epidemiology community.
  • Collect and summarize HR data as requested, including regular review of hourly rate and job titles for temporary appointments.
  • Process taxable reimbursements, including tuition support and travel expenses, and provide guidance on University reimbursement processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
