Requirements

  • Working knowledge of data structures (relational SQL), including data analysis. Experience using writing queries to retrieve and manipulate data as well as visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI)
  • Degree in engineering, bachelors degree, computer science or equivalent
  • Post graduate in computer science, data management or data science is a bonus
  • PM (project management), agile, lean and / or six sigma (DMAIC) is desirable

Responsibilities

  • To own and manage tools and processes for the collection, validation, analysis and presentation of HSE performance data
  • To ensure correct HSE data is in use across HE
  • To drive continuous improvement of reporting definitions and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • To retain oversight of the HSE systems and tools deployed within Hitachi Energy and to ensure the smooth flow of data across various sources and tools
  • Manage and coordinate the operational activities of key HSE technology platforms
  • Design and manage the HSE data warehouse, guaranteeing consistency and connection to analytical platforms (e.g. PowerBI or Qlik)
  • Perform HSE data visualization and analytics to help the Global HSE Function and Business Units focus on improvement opportunities and take action to improve and sustain performance
  • Based on the HSE Data, maintain a process for the identification of key areas for enhancement, allowing Global HSE and HSE in the Business Units for targeted interventions and decision-making
  • Leverage HSE data-driven insights to help Global HSE in effectively prioritize initiatives, allocate resources efficiently, and track progress towards its HSE goals
  • Introduce new techniques and tools to mine and analyze HSE data
  • Correlate HSE data with other relevant business Key Performance Indicators to detect patterns, towards an HSE predictive model
  • Play a key role in the ongoing design governance of the HSE technology platforms, reviewing proposed changes to maintain design integrity, and exploring opportunities to maximize the return on investment through cross-module capabilities
  • Develop HSE data literacy competency to enable a common understanding of HSE KPIs and related information across the organization
  • Drive continuous improvement of reporting definitions and HSE related key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Develop and retain oversight of all HSE systems and tools, ensuring appropriate leverage to maximize the benefit of each and drive consistency
  • Drive continuous improvement in the HSE reporting processes and tools to improve data quality and the ability to interrogate the data
  • Support corporate reporting activities, extracting data from the systems on a periodic basis and conduct analysis to help leaders understand strengths and weaknesses in their organization’s performance
  • Coordinate the service provision of support teams, to deliver high-quality internal customer support. Work with relevant stakeholders and the business units to perform periodic service reviews
  • Develop & deliver system-based training to key users, to ensure the organizational capability is sustained
  • Act as a center-point for solution knowledge, leading an internal community of practice around the HSE platforms
  • Define a process for master data, permissions & configuration for the platforms in steady-state operation, as required
  • Deploy the HSE digital solutions, expand the platforms or enhance existing capabilities, such as through leading platform upgrade activities
  • Maintain HSE system knowledge materials using the appropriate company tools
