Requirements

  • For our ICT & Digital scheme, we’re looking for enthusiastic and innovative individuals from a variety of ICT backgrounds, including:
  • Computer Science, Cyber Security, Computing, IT/ICT, Software Engineering, Computational Science/Engineering subjects, any joint Honours Courses and any similar degrees.
  • If that’s you and you achieved at least a 2:2 classification or above in your degree, then hit apply now.
  • Please note: Working at Sellafield Ltd requires you to achieve both security and medical clearance throughout the on-boarding process.

Responsibilities

  • Are you ready to dive into the exciting world of ICT at Sellafield Ltd? Do you want to be a part of shaping the future of ICT in the nuclear industry?
  • Our Information, Communication Technology profession made up of more than 500 people. They are based in Information Services Organisation (our IT department), Cyber Security, Digital, Operational Technology, Asset Management and Business Analytics. The ICT Graduate Scheme is an accessible and exciting entry route into these opportunities.
  • Over a two-year programme you will learn from industry specialists, developing technical and behavioural skills to give you the best start to your ICT career. As an ICT graduate, you will rotate through placements to develop experience in a variety of different areas, helping to broaden your ICT knowledge and skills. Rotating also allows you to be exposed to more of the nuclear industry, its stakeholders, and the challenges we face.
  • ICT graduates gain knowledge and experience as they help to solve highly complex projects. Often trainees are given the opportunity to drive packages of work themselves, with appropriate supervision from line management. You may be asked to lead an ICT-focused improvement to enable the business to increase productivity, improve processes and help us create a clean and safe environment for future generations.
  • You will become a confident, competent, and independent professional, able to operate in a range of ICT-focused roles.

Application Process

  • Applications for our graduate programmes will close on 27th October 2024.
  • You will be issued an assessment to complete, the date you receive this will depend on when you apply. You will be given a deadline to complete this by and will find out the result of your assessment mid-November.
  • Video interviews will take place from 11th November to 1st December 2024.
  • For Cumbria based schemes, face to face assessment centres will take place in Workington, Cumbria on 22nd, 23rd, 27th & 28th January 2025.
  • For Warrington based schemes, face to face assessment centres will take place in Risley, Warrington on 30th January 2025.
  • We don’t want you to worry about getting to our assessment centre locations, financial support is available to those who may struggle to front the cost of travel upfront.
  • *Please note, if you are unable to attend an assessment during these months you may be unable to complete our application process.
