  • This role would suit someone who has content writing experience and an eagerness to join our highly regarded team, or someone who has a relevant degree with writing experience and is looking to start their marketing career.
  • The role of Junior Marketing Copywriter is varied and exciting. The ideal candidate will help shape our content and enhance our communications strategy and will create press releases, articles, digital content, publications and much more. You will be working on different resources depending on the needs of our clients and our wider team, supporting both PKF Smith Cooper and our group companies.


  • A 2:1 or above in English, Journalism or Marketing degree or equivalent experience
  • Content writing experience – this could be professional, personal (e.g. blogging) or voluntary
  • Natural creativity with the ability to bring new ideas and enhance existing ones
  • Confident writing skills for both marketing and editorial copy
  • Acute attention to detail
  • A willingness to learn, and will be keen to collaborate and build strong relationships with the marketing and wider teams at PKF Smith Cooper
  • A high level of initiative and the confidence to ask for support when required
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage and prioritise work to tight deadlines
  • A goal oriented mindset whilst continually thinking outside the box
  • Excellent communication
  • Experience using GA4 or other reporting tools is desirable
  • Understanding of, and experience implementing, SEO best practices is advantageous

Area of Responsibilities

Media & Journalism


  • Researching industry-related topics and identify client needs and gaps to suggest ideas for content, whilst maintaining our content plan
  • Liaising with the wider team and other stakeholders to create content including blog posts, publications, press releases, advertising materials, web pages and awards submissions
  • Writing clear marketing copy to promote our services and position PKF Smith Cooper as industry experts
  • Proofread and edit documents
  • Ensure all-around consistency (style, fonts, imagery and tone)
  • Support the wider marketing team
  • Visit our other offices (namely Derby and Birmingham) and attend events when necessary
  • Translating technical information into commercial writing that is easily understandable
