What are the basic responsibilities of a Lab Technician in this position?
The Lab Technician is responsible for conducting residue sampling and testing, accurately collecting and analyzing samples, maintaining laboratory equipment, and preparing results as required. They also perform routine maintenance on equipment and communicate any issues to management.
What educational background is preferred for this position?
An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field is preferred.
What basic skills are required for this role?
Good basic laboratory skills such as pipetting, measuring techniques, and reagent preparation are required, along with computer skills to use email, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
Is experience in a chemistry lab necessary?
While not mandatory, experience in a chemistry lab through classwork or a job is preferred, and a basic understanding of gas chromatography (GC) use and maintenance is highly valued.
