Requirements

  • You’ll have a minimum of a 2:2 bachelor's degree in Land Management, Real Estate, Rural Property, Geography, Environmental, Town Planning, Geography, or Environmental Science. This should be an RICS accredited degree in order to progress the RICS APC and/or gain professional membership into the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers.
  • We'd love you to have some practical work experience that reflects your passion for the energy sector, as well as demonstrable experience of working in a team. You'll also be comfortable working to and setting stretching individual targets and using your own initiative to overcome challenges and should have a genuine interest in SSEN Transmission and the prospect of a long term future with us.

Responsibilities

  • Within our Land team, you will support Land Managers in securing, maintaining, and managing robust land and property rights for projects across SSEN Transmission’s network area by successfully applying and implementing Land Assembly Strategy in order to deliver project programmes for Large Capital Projects across Base Capex, Customer Connections and Strategic Wider Works portfolios as well as managing risk to future Network security.
  • Within our Consents and Environment team you will play a key part in supporting SSEN Transmission in our sustainability and environment goals. This includes a focus on protecting, restoring and enhancing biodiversity, preserving our visual amenities and minimising our carbon footprint. You will also have the opportunity to be involved in the design and implement of consenting strategies to deliver project consents and permits applicable across a range of projects which are dependent on a supportive planning process that is responsive to the levels of investment required to achieve Scotland’s climate goals.
  • Stakeholder engagement is an important element of this role, and you will have an opportunity to learn from a wide array of stakeholders, both internal and external. You will develop and maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders in relation to policy over land and property rights, access and management of land, securing and maintaining rights in land and dealing with matters of valuation and compensation.
