Responsibilities

  • The posts are based within the existing teams with access to departmental teaching and other developmental opportunities.
  • Despite not being recognised as ‘training posts’ they allow doctors to improve the breadth and depth of their experience in Anaesthetics.
  • There will be plenty of opportunity to become involved in teaching, audit, and research.
  • The post itself will give the opportunity to rotate through the following sub-specialties – Cardiothoracic, Neuro-anaesthesia, Intensive Care Medicine, Obstetrics, Paediatrics, and General Anaesthesia for 3-month allocations.
  • It would be expected that a Senior Clinical Fellow will be working with a degree of independence with senior consultant support and distant supervision available at all times.
  • We would strongly support any audit and/or research interest, of which there is plenty to get involved with in the department.
  • The post holder will be expected to take part in the on-call rota which is currently a 1 in 8.
  • It is important to note that dependent upon previous experience; there may be a period of supernumerary work / local assessment prior to commencement on the on-call rota.
  • In this period, basic pay will be applicable.
