What is the primary responsibility of the Lead Civil Designer?
The primary responsibility is to manage a team of designers to produce designs for engineering projects ranging from 11kV to 132kV for Contestable works as an ICP and client-side balance of plant works.
Where is the Lead Civil Designer position based?
The position is hybrid, based in our Design Team at the Olney Head Office, with occasional site visits to project locations around the UK as necessary.
What software skills are required for this role?
Proficiency in Autodesk products, including AutoCAD 2D/3D, Revit, and Civils 3D is required.
What qualifications are preferred for applicants?
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an appropriate subject is required.
What experience is necessary for this position?
Experience with ICPs, IDNOs, and DNOs, as well as managing design projects and teams of designers, is essential.
Are there any requirements related to health and safety?
Yes, experience in project-related tasks associated with health, safety, and welfare, including the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations, is required.
Is mentoring part of the job responsibilities?
Yes, the Lead Civil Designer is expected to assist and mentor junior or less experienced design engineers in their development.
