Responsibilities

  • As a Lead Design Engineer you will provide full design & advice on Electronics/Tools & expand capabilities of the team.
  • You'll be overseeing engineering design tasks for client and company requirements in support of Fugro operations.
  • The ideal candidate will design new or modified products and equipment, ensuring the company provides high-quality design engineering services to maintain its leading industry role.
  • Reporting directly to the Design Engineering Team Lead, this role involves collaborating with other discipline engineers, project managers, and the draughting team to design, develop, and deliver technical solutions globally.
  • In this role, the you will be responsible for creating detailed designs of ROV intervention tooling and project-specific equipment, ensuring compliance with departmental procedures and applicable codes and standards.
  • This includes performing engineering design verification and validation through rigorous analysis, calculations, and the development of associated design documentation such as test procedures and manuals.
  • You will also take ownership of and adhere to the engineering design process for assigned projects, ensuring all activities are carried out with the highest regard for health and safety and environmental protection.
  • The Lead Design Engineer will provide technical support and liaise with workshop, procurement, and operational teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • They will also interact with clients to understand their needs and provide engineering solutions that meet their requirements.
  • The role involves contributing to commercial activities, such as providing input to tenders by reviewing scopes of work, creating concept designs, and preparing cost, time, and resource estimates.

  • Additionally, you will drive inter-team knowledge sharing, skills improvement, and technical alignment within your region by actively collaborating with other Senior Engineers on architectural designs and reviews.
