Responsibilities

  • Using established policies and procedures, and in accordance with federal regulations and guidelines, coordinates the administration of Aflac’s Family Medical Leave (FML), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) leave programs, and other employee leave programs, including personal leave and military leave
  • Works with leaders, Payroll, and other HR partners to ensure that employee leave records are processed promptly and accurately; ensures appropriate compensation is granted; consults with employees and management to ensure receipt of required leave of absence documents; coordinates with short term and long term disability provider
  • Continuously reviews FMLA and ADA administrative processes to identify and recommend improvements that may streamline the process while maximizing employee service
  • Maintains accurate and confidential records of leave requests, approvals, and communications. Compiles data to develop and maintain statistical reports; audits files at designated intervals to identify and purge outdated/obsolete items
  • Assists with the development of company policies, practices, and procedures as needed
  • Assists the Employee Benefits teams with audits, Open Enrollment, and other special projects during the year
  • Audits semi-monthly payroll change reports and ensures timely submission to payroll department
  • Generate and analyze reports on leave trends, usage, and compliance
  • Provide training to managers and employees on leave policies and best practices
  • Performs other related duties as required
