Responsibilities

  • The Solicitor would act for and on behalf of Cardiff and Vale UHB in the management of Inquest proceedings and related requests from the Coroner.
  • The Solicitor will investigate factual circumstances of cases and advise on management of Inquest proceedings.
  • The Solicitor will have the opportunity to attend inquests, advocate on behalf of Cardiff and Vale UHB and where appropriate liaise with the Coroner.
  • The post-holder will work with the Inquest Team, Clinicians and data systems, as well as direct work with the Coroner.
  • The Solicitor will be responsible for leading legally on the delivery of the service, supervision, training, and creating meaningful and impactful change.
  • This post will sit alongside the Head of Inquests and Assistant Director of Patient Experience and will provide the team with legal advice and guidance to work within Cardiff and Vale UHB.
  • The post holder would lead on service development alongside the leads and build strong partnerships with other leaders in the wider team Cardiff and Vale UHB and beyond.
  • There will be close working relationships between this post and the Head of Inquests.
