Requirements

  • Graduate of a Practical Nursing program or recognized equivalent required.
  • Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) required.
  • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
  • Recent acute care experience required.
  • Recent level 2 NICU experience preferred.
  • Recent postpartum experience will also be considered.
  • Certificate in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred.
  • Completion of NICU Prep Course preferred.

Responsibilities

  • The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team, collaborating on the delivery of holistic, comprehensive care and support to patients/residents and families.
  • The LPN must be able to team lead effectively on their own.
  • The LPN works to the full scope of practice in providing safe, quality care in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health.
