Responsibilities

  • Comply with all regulatory requirements and company policies. Understand Transport Canada regulations and skilled with TDG
  • Communicates safety issues and is empowered to not only stop work but provide safety and continuous improvement recommendations
  • Track and support plant to exceed existing Key Performance Indicators for Safety, Service and Savings
  • Communicate with customers daily for outbound deliveries
  • Arrange transportation for outbound common carriers
  • Collaborate with customers to create a week of delivery to consolidate common carrier loads into full truck load where possible
  • Create and print delivery documents (trip logs, bills of lading)
  • Maintain electronic databases and reports
  • Scale in/out trucks on the truck scale
  • Load common carrier loads, maintains shipping locations incoming and outgoing
  • Maintain accurate documentation in SAP
  • Troubleshoot SAP delivery issues. Work with 3rd parties to expedite resolution
  • Facilitate shipping Department Operational Meetings
  • Support continuous Improvement initiatives in the shipping area and office
  • Answering phones and gates
  • File documents for retention
