Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of Category Management experience required, preferably within the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) (equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered).
  • Demonstrated fluency in MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint) required.
  • Current or prior experience with IRI/Circana and/or Nielsen reporting is required.
  • Strong analytical, data synthesis, data visualization and reporting skills required.
  • Must have excellent communication (oral and written), organizational, follow-up and stakeholder management skills (including the ability to develop and maintain strong, cross-functional stakeholder relationships).
  • Willing and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks based on the needs of the team and the business.
  • Must have strong presentation skills and the ability to influence key decision makers.
  • Willing and able to travel up to and including 25% based on the needs of the team and the business required.

Responsibilities

  • Establish clear Category Management strategies for the company and retailers based on Industry Trends & Consumer Insights by leveraging various data sources to construct dynamic presentations in order to communicate strategies and achieve objectives.
  • Serve as an expert in translating internal knowledge into action to identify opportunities for assigned retailers.
  • Collaborate with the account teams and cross functional teams to develop solutions to business issues.
  • Establish and deliver best-in-class merchandising recommendations, leveraging tools such as JDA and Rich Mix.
  • Influence the customer by identifying opportunities and providing potential solutions that align with retailer and company objectives.
  • Assist with any research, and lead projects, to deliver category solutions benefitting both the customer and the company.
  • Develop category reviews, line reviews, promotion analysis, new item trackers, etc.
  • Leverage data tools to provide reporting and insights which will further develop company and retailer objectives.
  • Develop analyses and insights that will help with business issues including: SKU rationalization, item defense, new item sell in, category reviews, new item tracking, consumer behavior, etc.
  • Incorporate advanced consumer data (Macro Level Insights Market Research, Consumer Decision Tree, Household Panel data, customer consumer data (Mintel, Kantar, Rich Mix and JDA) into analyses as relevant.
  • Partner with key internal teams such as strategy and sales to leverage insights to develop business at assigned retailers.
