Requirements

  • Four to six (4-6) years of progressive work experience in an accounting or auditing function
  • Experience with public company reporting requirements under IFRS
  • Strong financial systems experience, including advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with managing direct reports, and the willingness to always support the team
  • Highly organized and able to work in a dynamic, complex and fast-paced environment, as well as adapt quickly to manage changing priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and pro-active, with respect to both managing workload and professional development
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics and OneStream would be an asset
  • Education Required:
  • CA or CPA designated

Responsibilities

  • Lead the monthly financial close cycles, by reviewing daily journal entries, leading close process and period end accruals
  • Be a key contributor and reviewer with quarterly reporting requirements
  • Review the work of junior team members and provide mentorship to them
  • Collaborate regularly with and respond to the business and finance inquiries from other Brookfield business groups and departments
  • Continuously look for efficiency in our processes, tools and reports and make suggestions to implement these into our framework
  • Assist with reviewing and analyzing legal entity financial results as well as assist with forecasting
  • Prepare trial balances and/or other legal entity financial information based on tax and regulatory agency requests
