Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities to innovate in the pension funds' ALM approach by integrating best practices in portfolio construction and risk management.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and monitoring of ALM framework and tools, ensuring alignment with TD DB pension plans' risk tolerance, funding objectives, and liabilities.
  • Develop long-term strategic asset allocation and risk mitigation strategies across Fixed Income and Return Seeking asset classes, by ensuring a balance between return generation, liquidity, and ALM risk management.
  • Plan and contribute to the implementation of monthly compliance monitoring, liquidity management and portfolio re-balancing strategies for Canadian DB plans.
  • Analyze, formulate, and present pension funding recommendations, taking into consideration current market conditions, investment strategies and impact to the bank's balance sheet.
  • Lead thematic research on emerging risks which may impact current plan investments or portfolio construction decisions.
  • Support preparation and review of presentation materials for the Fiduciary Committee or other senior audiences; provide analytical and operational support, ensuring timely responses to ad hoc requests from internal and external partners.
  • Act as subject matter expert in pension liability, funding and risk modelling methodologies and support the design, development and maintenance of performance monitoring and reporting tools.
  • Contribute to Regulatory compliance and Risk Management initiatives related to pension plans.
