Requirements

Provides engineering and design solutions in assigned area of Marine Systems
Develops and/or reviews design documents for naval vessels
Develops and/or reviews material specifications and bills of material
Assists suppliers and subcontractors related to Marine Systems design
Reviews third party piping or machinery system designs
Designs/Reviews piping or machinery systems
Performs calculations and/or reviews third party calculations
Generates equipment purchase specifications
Reviews vendor information
Develops and manages the Bill of Materials
Develops the maturity of parts associated with the Bill of Materials
Liaises with internal clients regarding design output
PC proficiency with Microsoft Office 2010 software suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
Ability to work independently to develop solutions to technical problems
Above average analytical skills
Strong technical writing skills
Good organizational skills
Strong communication skills including written, verbal, listening, and presentation
Committed to a high standard of safety
Availability and willingness to travel as needed

Responsibilities

Participating in all phases of new construction design projects including: requirements decomposition, design preparations, supporting analysis, material selection and specification, engineering execution, and engineering close-out activities.
