Responsibilities

  • Lead and own the 1 year rolling, and 3 - 5 year improvement plan for the assets
  • Implement Written Schemes of Examination, assess equipment condition and suitability for further service and report the outcome to business area to comply with legal requirements and business goals
  • Recommend repairs and advise the Engineering and Projects Manager on the restoration of “fit for purpose” condition, accept repairs and assign inspection intervals to achieve legal compliance and business goals
  • Own and lead the implementation of a Risk Based Assessment programme for mechanical systems equipment, ensuring compliance
  • Provide mechanical systems technical input in support of projects and plant modifications and projects to deliver legal compliance and business integrity requirements
  • Ensure management of change practices are followed for all modifications, upgrades or project work to mechanical related systems on site
  • Conduct routine maintenance and updates to systems along with collaborating with production and engineering teams to improve system performance
  • Have a proven track record of successful people management, management of engineering operations, delivering CAPEX projects with an understanding of CDM regulations
  • Promoting the maintenance management system, ensuring the application of maintenance procedures, methods and best practices
  • Assisting the Engineering department in achieving its budget targets through the efficient use of materials and replacement parts
  • Develop and improve the knowledge and skills of engineers, fitters and apprentices by providing training and support on Mechanical systems and functionalities
  • Involvement with maintaining Health and Safety rules and regulations and ensure all Safe Systems of Work are signed off and complied with leading towards a target of zero harm for personnel and contractors
  • Continuous review of plant availability and performance, Identifying gaps, root causes and subsequent improvement activity with proposing economic ways to extend the life of plant equipment or increase the mean time between failures
  • Monitor and coordinate condition predictors for all critical equipment, whether this is by NDT or Condition Monitoring systems
  • Evaluate and improve the preventive maintenance job plans (from supplier’s recommendation if existing), create and update the corresponding inspection job plans, in coordination with the Engineering Planner
  • Contribute to the analysis of failures and problems, implementing corrective actions, whilst leading RCA "Root Cause Analysis" interrogation for plant failures when required
