Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular planned mechanical maintenance and repairs
  • Ensure equipment breakdowns are responded to and addressed in an appropriate time frame
  • Undertake mechanical repairs and refurbishment to the required standard
  • Ensure equipment is left in a safe condition and is fully tested before returning into service
  • Ensure workplace safety considerations are taken into account when undertaking all maintenance tasks
  • Source spare parts and technical information required to undertake maintenance and repair tasks
  • Utilise the computerised maintenance system to source store stock and job card information
  • Ensure the shift hand over is provided to the shift supervisor in a timely manner prior to the shift completion time
  • Perform the Relief Shift Supervisors/Leading Hand role when required
  • Compliance with safe work practices, procedures and policies
