What is the primary focus of the Mentoring and Projects Co-Ordinator role?
The primary focus is on the development, implementation, and delivery of a university-wide peer support programme and strategic projects to support student retention and continuation.
Who will I report to in this role?
You will report to the Student Achievement Team Leader.
What skills are required for this position?
We are looking for an enthusiastic multi-skilled individual with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as the ability to lead and support multiple projects and initiatives.
Will I be working with other departments?
Yes, you will build strong working relationships with students and academic departments, collaborating with key services such as Solent Careers, Students’ Union, and Business Insights teams.
What kind of initiatives will I be involved in?
You will lead on and support initiatives aimed at student retention and achievement, identify groups of students at risk, and develop and implement intervention programmes.
Is training provided for mentors and mentees?
Yes, the role focuses on promotion, training, and ongoing support for student participation and engagement in peer support as mentors and mentees.
