What are the primary responsibilities of a Microbiology Laboratory Technician?
The primary responsibilities include performing Bioburden testing on medical device products, preparing and sterilizing media using aseptic techniques, recognizing and addressing equipment malfunctions, conducting preventative maintenance and laboratory housekeeping, and following procedures related to data documentation, laboratory safety, and good laboratory practices.
Will I receive training for specific microbiological techniques?
Yes, you will receive training on USP 61 and USP 62, and may also train on LAL testing and other microbiological techniques.
What should I expect regarding the work environment?
The Microbiology department consists of about 20 team members, with labs that are separated but work closely with the R&D and Chemistry labs, all within a very clean environment.
