The primary responsibilities include implementing and executing Red Sox Strength & Conditioning programming, supervising the Assistant S&C Coach, individualizing training programs, collaborating with various departments on player development, and maintaining gym and sports science equipment.
What is the location of this position during the competitive season?
This position is based out of Portland, ME during the competitive season.
Is relocation to Fort Myers, FL required?
Relocation to Fort Myers, FL is strongly encouraged due to participation in pre-Spring Training camps, Spring Training, and assigned off-season camps.
What educational qualifications are necessary for this role?
A Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or a related field is required, along with a minimum of two years of experience in a strength and conditioning-related role.
Are there any certifications required for this position?
Yes, candidates must possess Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach (RSCC) certifications from the NSCA, along with CPR/AED certification.
Is there a preference for advanced degrees?
Yes, a Master’s degree in Exercise Science or a related field is preferred.
Is proficiency in any additional languages advantageous for this role?
Yes, fluency in Spanish is preferred.
