Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Quantitative Finance or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a taxable municipal bond credit analyst.
  • Demonstrated quantitative, data analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Independent thinker willing to challenge convention. Willing to present ideas with precision, passion and conviction.
  • Desire to work in a team environment possessing strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Strong proficiency with Bloomberg, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
  • The following would be considered assets:
  • successful completion of, or current enrollment in the CFA program
  • experience with databases (Access, SQL) and Python
  • Candidates must be able to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizing both qualitative and quantitative research, provide fundamental research analysis on taxable municipal bond issuers. This includes conducting surveillance of existing holds.
  • Provide timely and insightful credit and relative value opinions on municipal bond investment opportunities
  • Provide written credit opinions of issuers, incorporating financial statement analysis, economic/market trends and sector developments
  • Review offering memoranda for suitability of bondholder protections
  • Work closely with all members of the Real Asset Debt team
  • Participate in investment team meetings and offering research perspective
  • Assisting other divisions within the Public Securities Group (Marketing, Client Service, Operations) for data analytics of portfolios/accounts.
