Requirements

  • You need to have the following or a suitable alternative that you can explain the value and appropriateness of:
  • A 2:1 in Law, Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL), or equivalent qualification (if you have a 2:2 and mitigating circumstances that affected your grades, please let us know).
  • Excellent writing skills and high proficiency in legal research.
  • Excellent research skills.
  • An understanding of how the law works and develops (eg how case law and legislation change the law).
  • Familiarity with legal contracts and how they work (you need not be an expert drafter, but a foundational understanding is necessary).
  • Ideally, you will also be:
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Organised.
  • A natural problem solver.
  • A team player and proactive communicator.
  • It would be great if you also:
  • Have experience working in a law firm, in-house legal team, legal marketing, or legal tech.
  • Have experience or at least an enthusiasm for working in a hybrid working environment.
  • Are interested in social media marketing and/or other marketing channels.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out research to help define, develop or maintain our content (eg legal and business documents and guides).
  • Draft legal and marketing content, whether for products and services, documents, guidance, articles or other materials.
  • Build clearly articulated, easy-to-use and easy-to-understand decision flows to help make sense of how legal documents are constructed for customer use.
  • Maintain awareness of continuous content development of our products and services.
  • Monitor legal and business trends in social and mainstream media and help to promote Rocket Lawyer content in response to this.
  • Assist with the development of social media assets and strategies for promoting our legal and business content.
  • Define processes and document all processes you undertake. You will be taught to use our performance metrics to understand our business’ performance and will take ownership of these.
  • Proactively take responsibility for self-improvement by staying well informed of developments, knowledge and innovations that affect both the legal sector and other businesses.
  • Proactively identify areas of personal improvement and work with your manager to strengthen your skills.
  • Build an understanding of SEO and content marketing.
