Responsibilities

  • The Brant Community Healthcare System is a two site Community Hospital located in Brantford and Paris, Ontario.
  • This is a temporary full-time pharmacist position (approximately 12 months) reporting to the Director of Pharmacy Services. You will be responsible for drug distribution and other clinical pharmacy services. You will provide drug information to physicians, nursing and other paramedical staff. Pharmacy Services strives to practice the concept of pharmaceutical care while ensuring safe medication management.
  • Practices in accordance with relevant legislation, CSHP standards and other relevant practice documents, professional code of ethics and department and hospital policies
  • Assumes personal responsibility for continual upgrading of medication and therapeutic knowledge through varied means (including ongoing literature review within pharmacy scope and other key medical journals to remain up-to-date on clinical pharmacy practices).
  • Safety (patient, worker & workplace) is a BCHS Corporate Priority. The successful applicant will demonstrate good stewardship in the identification, reporting and mitigation of unsafe acts or conditions.

The Brant Community Healthcare System (BCHS) in Brantford and Paris Ontario, is a leading community health care organization with a total of 262 beds and more than 2,300 staff, physicians and volunteers providing support, programs and services to over 120,000 residents in our community. In 1999, The Willett Hospital in Paris and the Brantford General Hospital became the first two partners in the BCHS. The Brantford General Hospital is a regional acute health centre and the Willett site provides urgent care and ambulatory services for those in need.
