Responsibilities

  • The job responsibilities are as follows:
  • Reporting to the Clinical Manager Emergency Department in collaboration with the Chief and Medical Director of Emergency Department and working closely with the existing Physician Assistant team under the direction and supervision of a registered Physician and in accordance with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario’s policy on delegation the Physician Assistant (PA) provides medical care to patients based on mutually agreed upon guidelines.
  • This position will assist flow through the Emergency department.
  • As a PA you will work as part of our team in our high acuity emergency department.
  • Safety (patient worker & workplace) is a BCHS Corporate Priority. The successful applicant will demonstrate good stewardship in the identification reporting and mitigation of unsafe acts or conditions.

The Brant Community Healthcare System (BCHS) in Brantford and Paris Ontario, is a leading community health care organization with a total of 262 beds and more than 2,300 staff, physicians and volunteers providing support, programs and services to over 120,000 residents in our community. In 1999, The Willett Hospital in Paris and the Brantford General Hospital became the first two partners in the BCHS. The Brantford General Hospital is a regional acute health centre and the Willett site provides urgent care and ambulatory services for those in need. The BCHS has been awarded the 'Gold' Quality Healthcare Workplace award by the Ontario Hospital Association and Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care for two years in a row and are an affiliated teaching site of the McMaster University Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine. We are also the regional centre for Paediatrics, Mental Health, Obstetrics, Gynaecology, CT Scanning, Critical Care, Surgical Services, Ambulatory Care and Emergency Medicine and the site of the Brant Community Cancer Clinic and the S.C.
