What is the primary focus of the Policy Analyst position at UNDP?
The primary focus is to provide analytical inputs and contribute to policy development in areas such as sustainable development, infrastructure, investments, energy, and digital transformation, while supporting the strategic priorities of the UNDP Rome Centre and its partners.
What educational qualifications are required for this position?
An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Public Policy, Management, Human Development, or related fields is required. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree) in the same areas with two additional years of qualifying experience will be considered.
How many years of relevant work experience are required for applicants?
A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience is required with a Master’s degree, or 4 years with a Bachelor’s degree, in policy advisory, policy support, policy development, or project management.
What skills are necessary for this role?
Required skills include experience in policy support and advisory roles, strategic policy development, stakeholder engagement, as well as data collection and analysis for reporting purposes.
Is knowledge of multiple languages required?
Yes, fluency in English and Italian is required. Fluency in another UN language will be considered an asset.
Is prior experience in African development issues preferred?
Yes, prior working experience on development issues in the region of Africa is highly desired.
Will there be opportunities for international travel in this role?
Yes, international mission travel may be required as part of the responsibilities.
