Responsibilities

  • Act as the Principal Electrical Engineer for the Electrical Engineering Department. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Be an example of safe work habits at work and home.
  • Assess and improve technical competence of Electrical Engineering personnel.
  • Hire capable Electrical Engineers and assist in their introduction to Worley and their new coworkers.
  • Perform annual performance reviews using Worley systems and provide feedback to employees.
  • Be an official mentor to staff as assigned. Be an informal mentor to all Electrical Engineering staff.
  • Perform annual salary assessments and communicate the results to employees.
  • Promote career development within the electrical department.
  • Identify subject matter experts and contribute to the Worley global system of posting their capabilities.
  • Coordinate with the Project Management Team and forecast requirements for Electrical Engineering resources.
  • Assign Electrical Engineering staff appropriately for project needs.
  • Ensure Electrical Engineering commitments are met throughout the department.
  • Promote inter-discipline communication and cooperation and resolve interface issues that arise.
  • Prepare, or assign and review, Electrical Engineering staffing estimates for project tasks.
  • Promote use of world-wide Global Integrated Delivery (GID) of Electrical Engineering in India and Bogota, Columbia.
  • Promote cost reduction and productivity enhancing initiatives.
  • Check compliance with Worley quality assurance/safety/sustainability standards.
  • Ensure department cost and schedule promises are kept during project as studies and projects are executed.
  • Develop strong relationships with Denver department managers, North American Electrical Engineering department managers, and GID counterparts.
  • Participate in Global Engineering Team initiatives.
  • Attend global Process Engineering Managers meetings and regularly contribute to the conversation.
  • Promote the Worley culture and communication development within the Electrical Engineering department.
  • Capable of working on engineering studies or project production including leading an Electrical Engineering team.
  • Become immersed in Worley project history and capabilities and market them to clients both directly and through presentations.
  • Understand Worley work process maps to anticipate electrical engineering activities during near-term project execution to assist lead engineers and assigned projects.
  • Work as Lead Electrical Engineer on assigned projects, Responsible for overall supervision of electrical engineers/designers.
  • Improving technical competence of electrical engineering personnel.
  • Forecast requirement for electrical engineering resources and allocate those resources.
  • Electrical design integrity of work scope and maintenance of standards.
  • Identify electrical software necessary to enable instrument/electrical group to function effectively.
