What qualifications are required for the Principal Trainer position?
An Epic certification and significant Digital training expertise are required. Epic Emergency / Diagnostics or Ambulatory training certification is also necessary, or other Epic certification with Emergency / Diagnostics or Ambulatory certification must be obtained within 6 months of starting the position.
What are the main responsibilities of a Principal Trainer?
Principal Trainers lead the analysis, design, delivery, implementation, and evaluation of cross-organizational training solutions for both clinical and non-clinical staff in relevant application areas.
Which Epic applications will the Principal Trainer be working with?
The Principal Trainer will work with Epic applications such as ASAP, Cupid, Radiant, Beaker, and Lumens in the Emergency / Diagnostics team, and Outpatients, Beacon, Wisdom, Phoenix, and Community in the Ambulatory team.
Will the Principal Trainer be managing a team?
Yes, the Principal Trainer will manage a team of IT Trainers and Junior Trainers focused on Epic and associated Clinical IT systems.
What will the Principal Trainer be involved in besides training?
The Principal Trainer will also be involved in workflow design and systems build alongside the Application Teams, contributing their expertise in clinical and operational workflows to develop the Training Programme.
How does this role support patient care?
The Training Programme will focus not only on how to use the system but also on critical changes in working practices that improve efficiency, quality, and overall delivery of patient care.
